I Need help with

Housing or money

Losing your job, not being able to pay your bills, or not having a safe place to go home to can be stressful.

These types of situations can contribute to a mental health condition or make an existing one harder to manage.

Putting a plan in place, or talking to someone, can help you get on top of things before it becomes too overwhelming to manage and impacts your health.

Connecting with information online can also help you better understand your situation and why it may be affecting your mental health and wellbeing. Visit Beyond Blue to learn more.

Who can help me in the NT?

If you are unsure about who to talk to or who can help, a good place to start is your local GP. If you live in a small town or community, your local health clinic or community service are the best places to go, as they can refer you to specialist support.

  • Community based support services

Visit Shelter Me for information and pathways to support  if you are seeking accommodation or experiencing financial hardship.

  • Remote health service

If you live in a community without access to a GP clinic, you'll most likely have a health service in or near your community. This local service can support your health needs and may have Aboriginal health workers and nurses who can help you find the right support.

  • General Practitioner (GP) or doctor

If you are worried about your current housing or financial situation, you can speak with a General Practitioner (GP)  for help and advice.

A GP can help guide you to appropriate support depending on your needs.
